Otztal Skitour traverse

We'll meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Maso Corto ski resort in Val Senales. We'll take the chairlift up.

Towards the Teufelsjoch pass at 3,179 meters, to reach the pass you will need to climb another 150 meters with skins.

From the pass, we will ski for 200 meters before continuing the ascent to the summit of Vallunga at 3,528 meters. The descent will cross the entire glacier until we reach the Hoch Joch Hospiz refuge.

The refuge only accepts cash payments.

Departure from Hoch Joch Hospiz after breakfast, destination Similaun Hut Refuge.

We will climb up a long valley and then across a glacier that will take us to the Similaun refuge. There will be the opportunity to continue and climb to the summit of Similaun, followed by a break at the refuge.

Accommodation will be at the Similaun Hut.

We will depart from the refuge and head for the Bellavista refuge. We will cross the glacier to the foot of the Finale peak. Leaving our skis behind, we will follow the ridge until we reach the summit. Almost all of this stage takes place around the

At an altitude of 3,000 meters, we will pass through the area where the famous Similaun mummy Otzi was discovered.

We will reach the Bellavista refuge where we will spend the night after skiing on a spectacular glacier down to the slopes where the refuge is located.

The last day is dedicated to the return journey. We have two options: we can move back onto the glacier towards Punta di Finale, which dominates the Forte glacier at the refuge, and then descend on the piste to Maso Corto, or, if conditions change, we can head towards the valley of landslides, near the Palla Bianca peak. This is a famous freeride classic that allows you to descend to Maso Corto.

This ski crossing offers magnificent views along the borderline, always at an altitude of around 3000 meters.
