The climb to Capanna Margherita does not have extreme technical passages, but takes place entirely in a glacial environment at high altitude.
Excellent physical condition, endurance and ability to maintain a steady pace for many hours is required, as well as good familiarity with crampons and roped progression.
How does the Capanna Margherita ascent work?
The ascent usually takes two days, departing from Alagna Valsesia or Gressoney with overnight stay at high altitude huts (Rifugio Gnifetti or Rifugio Mantova).
